Meyer’s Philosophy –Source unknown
Nowhere in the universe is there evidence of charity, of kindness, of mercy towards beasts amongst them, and still less consideration amongst men. Man is only a part of nature, and his conduct is not substantially different from that of all animal life. But for the man himself, there is little joy. Every child that is born upon this earth arrives through the agony of pain and disappointment and sorrow.
From beginning to end, it is the prey of disease and misery; not a child is born that is not subject to disease. Parents, family, friends, and acquaintances, one after another die, and leave us bereft.
The noble and the ignoble life meet the same fate. Nature knows nothing about right and wrong, good and evil, pleasure and pain; she simply acts. She creates a beautiful woman and places cancer on her cheek. She may create an idealist and kill him with a germ. She creates a fine mind and then burdens it with a deformed body. And she will create a fine body, apparently for no use whatever. She may destroy the most wonderful life when its work has just commenced.
Men are here on this earth for a few brief moments of eternity. All men and all people are seeking power and place. From the ages of Egypt to the England of today, there has been a constant succession of rulers of the world.
Inevitably, England will one day lose her prestige. Then it will come to America to grow and decay as others have risen and fallen. No one has anything to do or say about it all, for the back of all is destiny that holds the reins. What is Destiny? In Algebra we let X equal the unknown quantity. In human affairs, we call X Destiny.
One day, while talking, I asked him some questions about his life and he answered me, so I started taking notes because I was curious and found it to be very interesting.
To my surprise, he was talkative that day and because I wrote very quickly, not finishing a sentence, not finishing a word.
Some notes were written in English; Some in Turkish, mostly on stationery of the Konover Hotel in Miami Beach, and it was written during my last year with him before he passed away.

Meyer sued the telephone company for having wiretapped his phone for a long time. Because of this, he was “visited” by people from the FBI, who told him to drop the suit.
For sure, Meyer refused right away, as I know the kind of man he was, and then the FBI threatened him, saying that from that day on, you won’t have a happy day.

Dr. Maurice Williams wrote two books on Sun Yat-sen and social interpretation of history. He came to me in nineteen thirty-three and asked me to raise money to interest Jews to put settlements in China. He had a great influence on the Chinese.
I solicited some Jews and they didn’t like the idea, I gave him twenty-five hundred dollars and I went back later and told him, we are going up the wrong alley.
